AAC+ Information

AACPlus2 (AAC+) is modern internet audio format that provided near CD quality using little bandwith. The combination of three MPEG technologies comprising Advanced Audio Coding (AAC), coupled with Coding Technologies’ Spectral Band Replication (SBR), and Parametric Stereo (PS) technologies.

SBR is a unique bandwidth extension technique which enables audio codecs to deliver the same quality a half the bit rate. PS significantly increases the codec efficiency a second time for low bit rate stereo signals.

AAC is intended for very high-qualitycoding with compression up to 12:1.
The AAC codec is about 30% more efficient than MP3 and about twice as efficient as MP2. Imagine that 32 kbps aacPlus2 provide near CD quality and still good on 24 kbps which provide FM quality sound.
The 16 kbps still get stereo sound and good quality for mixed content even below 16 kbps mono.
On mp3 needs 128 kbps and mp2 needs 256 kbps minimum for better sound.

How much bandwith using if we using mp3 or mp2?
That’s why we use aacPlus2
